Smoking an electronic cigarette takes a little bit of getting used to.
At first you might feel like you are missing something, and you are.
You are missing the toxic chemicals that are found in tobacco smoke!
That feeling will soon go away.
First of all, if you take to fast of a drag you may end up
sucking the smoke juice into your mouth.
You need to take a slower drag so this does not happen.
Second, by taking a slower drag you not only avoid sucking in
the smoke juice but you also get more vapor and more throat hit.
The vapor is the water mist that looks like smoke.
The throat hit is the burn you get in the back of your throat.
Third, most E9 or mini ecigs have a cut off around 3 seconds.
That means that the battery shuts itself off to prevent burning
the cartridge material. So if you want more vapor and throat hit,
you can just do a double or a triple puff. As soon as the battery
shuts off, just stop puffing for a second and do another puff, or two.
Fourth, be careful not to get the cart too hot!
If you are showing off your ecig and letting your friends try it, you
can burn the cart material. This is similar to "hot boxing" a tobacco cigarette. It will have a nasty, burnt taste for the rest of its life. With an ecig, that could ruin the rest of the cart life, 18 or 22 cigarettes worth.
Once the cart material gets burnt, you will never get rid of
that burnt taste, even if you drip it or refill it.
If you are dripping or refilling your carts, do not let them get
too dry. This can burn the cart material and ruin the taste.
When the vapor starts getting low, replace your cart with a new
or refilled cart to extend the life as long as possible.
Most carts have a life of about 18-22 cigarettes, depending on
your smoking habits. I have gotten about the equivalant of
25 cigarettes from my Red Dragon carts, it can and will vary.
If the vapor starts getting low, it may be the battery or the cart.
You should try changing the battery first. If the battery is getting
low on charge it will not produce vapor the way it should.
Most batteries will blink when they are getting low,
but might produce less vapor before they start to blink.
If the battery does not help, then it will be time for a new cart.
My Red Dragon batteries charge in about 30-45 minutes.
However, you can keep it on the charger for up to 3 hours to get
the maximum charge life from it. NO MORE THAN 3 HOURS!
I usually get about 4-5 hours from a battery.
Not everyone smokes the same, so depending how much and how fast
you smoke it will vary. Also, double puffing will tend to run the
battery dead a little bit faster and also use up the cart a bit faster.
I hope this will answer some questions that many of you might have.
